Our Past Is Definitely Prologue
In August 2007, the very first Green Plains ethanol plant didn’t just start producing renewable fuel for an energy-hungry world. It also started a decade of success – brought about by bold leadership, visionary thinking and old-fashioned hard work – for what is now the second-largest ethanol producer in the world.
As the next decade of Green Plains begins, we are focused on not just reaping the rewards of past triumphs, but sowing new opportunities for even greater successes to come.
We will lead the industry and outpace our competition. We are disciplined innovators and rapid adopters of proven technologies and practices. What we do, others attempt to mimic.
We will bring greater stability to a volatile business. By judiciously extending the footprint of our related operating segments through organic growth and prudent acquisition, and by exploring new adjacencies when possible, we will further our ability to maintain forward momentum over the long term.
We will not leave costs unanalyzed or uncut. From production methods to transportation to marketing, we will explore every existing avenue to reduce expenses. And create new efficiencies along the way.
We will celebrate our employees as the champions they are. It takes ambitious people to accomplish audacious goals. Our employees are self-selected overachievers, thought leaders and difference makers. The more we as a company support them, the stronger we all become.
When we achieve the above, we will harvest more potential, more power, more products and more profits from every kernel of corn we process.
Not just for the next ten years, but for decades to come.
